Billions die because fruit was eaten. Please think about this.
by pleaseresearch incounties once at war with one another can forgive and move on.
even horrible murderers who killed the family members of someone can be forgiven for the act that they did.. but god, no no no.
no such thing can happen.

Hooray! Bound volumes in the trash!
by stillin inmy wife has held onto them like they were family heirlooms.
we are cleaning and clearing out accumulated stuff and i pointed out that there is the cd-rom library now and that the society has made revisions and really doesn't want us to be reading the old stuff.
she said that even though there have been changes to the teachings, the wrong understanding served its' purpose at the time.

when i cleared my late fathers house--i dumped over 50 years worth of magazines. i found them all over his house. stored in cereal boxes. also a stack of books--and a large box of congregation records.
i wouldnt demean myself to sell watchtower rubbish on ebay..i dont need that sort of dirty money.

2005 Big Announcement (Disappointment)
by Fred Franztone ini remember around 2005, there was an announcement made from the platform that in a few weeks time we would have to remain at the end of the sunday meeting for a big announcement, directly from the society.. i remember all the murmuring, people thought maybe this was going to be related to armageddon.
everyone was excited, people were speculating.
only the po in each congregation had any idea what was going on, and they were frequently pestered for information, but sworn to secrecy, which only hyped things up even more.. then the meeting came, anticipation was in the air, the announcement started, you could hear a pin drop.

all the congregation excitedly anticipating some sort of announcement that the rest of mankind was about to be killed off. there are a lot of very sick christians in the watchtower society.

my late dad--a jw for over 50 years went into a care home for his last 3 years. i visited him several days a week--and performed various personal services as part of his care.
-----------------
my daughter---46----lives with her husband and her own 4 daughters----together with her mother ( my first wife )----less than a mile from him. they are staunch dubs.
my first wife visited dad just once in those 3 years---my daughter:- never.--despite me repeatedly asking her to.
i think it was their way of shunning him because they knew he and i had a very close relationship.. what a sad end to his life.

in case youre wondering--i hate the watchtower cult.

how about armageddon coming in 2026--? not immediate--but not too far ahead....just about right to launch a fresh dub hysteria.
why 2026.....? isnt it 6000 years from the creation of Adam ?
the rumour started here folks.

Strange
by Jrjw ina couple of times at the meetings this year we've been told that in the future we might get some strange directions from the society that might not make any sense to us.
then they've said will we show our loyalty to jehovah by still obeying?
seems a rather unusual thing to say.

PHILIPPINES - "December 15, 2017 letter Re: 2017 Service Year Report" - with local numbers and highlights
by darkspilver inthe previously posted wt letter of december 15, 2017 "re: 2017 service year report" was for the us congregations.. as expected the second (and third) paragraphs of the letter are being re-written to feature highlights in the local field to the congregations that it is addressed to.... hence below is what i understand to be the highlighted figures in the letter that is being sent and read out (in the first week of january 2018) to congregations in the philippines.. i believe that the philippines is traditionally one of the wt's *star performers* in terms of growth (*cough*cough* if you exclude the 1975-fallout) .
(previous year's figures in brackets) .
peak publishers: 210,914 (209,131).

i wonder how shunning goes down in the philippines. hardly a popular idea with strong family bonds there.

How many anointed have come and gone; how many remain?
by Moster injust wondering if there is any data about how many anointed there were in say 1914, and considering most would have passed 'beyond the veil' already, are the jw's numbers adding up?
we know there are more in 2017 then there were in 2016, but just where are we in the grand total column?.
